What should I do to be ready for the photo session?

If the session will be at your home you might want to tidy up just a bit, but it is not necessary.  When I arrive I like to get a quick tour of your home so I can find different settings and lighting to shoot in.  Be prepared for me to rearrange some furniture in order to find the best light.  If a pet will be a part of the session and you have a very active high energy pet, it might be a good idea to take him on a walk or play a few rounds of fetch with him.  If you have a low energy, sleep all day type of dog then let them rest up before the session.  If your pet has a favorite toy or treat it would be a good idea to have it handy.  For young children and babies, I prefer for them to be fed about 30 minutes before I arrive.  I take plenty of breaks with the little ones, so we can always work in a feeding if necessary.  Oh, and if you do feed your little one before the session, it might be a good idea to leave his or her bib on until we start.

I see you are from Harlingen.  Do you also service other areas?

I guess you could say my primary area of service is the mid to lower Rio Grande Valley.  If you live outside this area and would like to commission me to do a session,  just give me a call and we can discuss it.  Usually I charge a small travel fee beyond 30 miles from Harlingen.  (The way gas prices are going, I might have to increase this soon to cover my costs!) I am also hoping to do travel sessions to both Houston and Austin/San Antonio at some point.  Contact me if you are interested in one of these locations.  When I get enough interested people I will try to set something up.

How long will it take to get my prints?

You should have your gift prints and wall prints within a couple weeks after you place your order.  Canvas gallery wraps will take about 3-4 weeks,  and photobooks/albums will take a few weeks longer. These time frames are based on my average volume and can vary depending on how busy I am at the time.  I will make every effort to get your order to you as soon as possible.

I really only want a few 4×6 prints.  Can we just do a quick session where you only take a couple photographs for less cost?

My sessions typically lasts one to two hours.  I find this time is needed to get a variety of great photographs and it allows the session to be more relaxed, which results in a better images.  You are more than welcome to order only smaller prints as long as you meet my minimum order requirement.  If you are not interested in larger prints, I would highly recommend you consider a brag album that contains 20-30 images from the session.  I also highly recommend getting a canvas gallery wrap!

My child dog is CRAZY wild.  Will you still be able to get good photographs of him?

Each child or pet I photograph presents a different challenge, but rest assure I can take beautiful photographs of all personality types.  That being said, if your dog or cat is aggressive towards people or has ever bitten someone please let me know beforehand.  I am sure we can find a way to work together so that you get the images you want and I don’t end up as Cujo’s dinner! And while it has never been a problem for me, if your CHILD is very aggressive and bites people, let me know and I’ll see if I can bring a priest with me!;)

I have several pets/a large family I would like you to photograph.  Will there be an extra fee involved?

My creative fee includes the shooting of up to two pets. Additional pets are $25 each. My creative fee also covers the shooting of up to five immediate family members. additional people are also $25 each. The additional fees cover the additional time, the extra photos I will take, and the extra post processing time I will provide.

Do you photograph large groups?  I have a family reunion coming up that I would like to get some images of the entire family together.

I prefer to photograph immediate family, children, and pets.  That being said, give me a call and I would be happy to discuss doing a large shoot for you.  I will, however, require a higher creative fee than my standard rate.

Do you photograph weddings?  Do you have any wedding packages?

I’m sorry to say that weddings are not my forte.  I know there is a lot of money to be made shooting weddings, but I just don’t enjoy it.  Too much stress, and just something I don’t really enjoy shooting.
